Should have built it from scratch

Alright. So its pretty. Nicely stained and pretty angles to the wood. But its quite low (not for anyone 6 feet or taller).
For context, the person who put it together is a seasoned carpenter and the person writing the review is his partner. I haven't heard him this frustrated in a longggg time...
The snow load details on the add shows it can withstand much, but the horizontal peices of woods feels small/cheep for our heavy winters (easily 20in of snow or more). Not to mention the roof beams and support beams are all actualy 2 peices connected my metal. The predrilled holes for many peices weren't properly aligned for where they were needed. And the instructions for the roof would have been much better if they gave measurement for spacing between each roof beam. Also the metal top in painted on the bottom only and once installed we have an 1/2 inch over hanging on one edge.... the true verdict for us (betwen a 2 star and 1 star) is how well it with witstands our first winter and if the metal roof will last the element.

Surprize! It's orange!

The first thing you will notice when you open the boxes is that the wood (all 44-46 pieces) are orange. Surprize! Then you will notice that the wood is just white pine like you would use for studs INDOORS. Not an exterior grade wood. The orange is some kind of cheap shellac that won't last. I sanded down all the wood and stained it with a lifetime guarantee solid stain from Lowe's called Cabot chocolate chip. It's a bunch of work and took two gallons of stain at 52 bucks a gallon at Lowe's. I painted the black metal brackets to match the wood. I haven't put it up yet but I did buy extra 4x4's and other wood for making it stronger (it looks Chinese cheap). You will have to fabricate brackets to bolt it down to your deck. You get what you pay for. At least all of the parts were there. No flied lice included.
