This is a very nice chicken cage to use over a chicken coop. The frame itself is very easy to put together with only a few screws. I bought this because i liked the snake, dimensions and price. Again, the quality of the frame and design are very good and it did not take long to put that part together.
I did not use the chicken wire that came with it. It is a quality chicken wire, but I decided to use hardware cloth to protect the coop from the raccoons, skunks, etc. I also did not use the plastic zip ties that came with it, iI purchased 11"metal zip ties to attach the hardware cloth to itself and the frame. I spent more on the hardware cloth and zip ties than this cage, but even with the sum of those, you're getting a great frame and an affordable product to protect your flock.
This run gave my flock way more room to move around, and I feel better knowing they’re safe from hawks and other critters. The cover’s a nice touch — gives them shade during the hot afternoons.
Setup took a little time, but once it’s done, it’s very sturdy. We’ve had some windy days and it held up great. Easy to get in and out for feeding and cleaning, which makes daily care so much smoother.
